The main goal of this web site is to provide an easily accessible source of imagery
that supports faith-based activities. Examples include providing imagery to:
use in teaching materials,
add to the effectiveness of informational pamphlets,
welcome people to worship, assist bible study groups
and support sermons.
While particular emphasis will be in providing imagery
that is recognizably from the Pacific Northwest the expectation is that the imagery
will support activities throughout the wider faith community.
Two important secondary goals are to:
(1) support fellowship at
University Presbyterian Church
by allowing the congregants the opportunity
to engage their artistic skills in support of their faith and
(2) improving outreach by asking neighbors, friends and relatives to
engage in a gratifying activity that may also provide a vehicle to
open a discussion of the meaning of faith in a secular age.
Given the preoccupation of youth with digital images this project
may be a particularly effective way to expose youth to the meaning
of faith in a culture that does not always encourage
the development of a strong understanding of the Christian faith.
